Malawi will be on a mission to stop Zimbabwe on their heels in Group L of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers at the National Stadium in Harare on Sunday.
The flames are playing to restore nothing more than National pride following a dismal qualifying campaign that has seen them collected only two points so far.
Ernest Mtawali’s side lie at the bottom of the table, 6 points behind their opponents Zimbabwe. Mtawali will rely on Chiukepo Msowoya, John Banda and Joseph Kamwendo to deliver a favorable result for Malawi.
Zimbabwe, meanwhile, are flying high after four games played and are top of Group L with 8 points.
Zimbabwe delivered a 2-1 defeat to Malawi in the Previous fixture played at Kamuzu Stadium with Malajila and Billiat scoring the two goals while John Banda scored the lone goal for the Flames.
Coach Callisto Pasuwa has done a tremendous job with the Warriors squad and will look to star striker Knowledge Musona, Cuthbert Malajila and Khama Billiat for goals.
Khama Billiat has been in fine form for his club Mamelodi Sundowns in the South African Premier Soccer League and was recently voted PSL player of the year.
A win for Zimbabwe will see them take a stride ahead of their closest rivals Guinea and Swaziland who are both on 5 points.
The match kicks off at 15:00 CAT.
