In south Africa ,the first round of the ABSA premier league began with Malawian midfielder Robert Ngambi scored the winner for his club Platinum Stars who shocked Supersport United at the Royal Bafokeng stadium.His 62nd minute goal was the difference in the match.
Elsewhere ,in the same league ,another Malawian player Helings Garbadinho Mhango helped his new club Bidvest Wits silence giants Kaiser Chiefs 2-1 in an opening match at the Bidvest stadium .His two assists provided the goals helping Bidvest harvest the three points at home .
Another Malawian player Sankhani Mkandawire shined on his debut season for his club Mbeya City earning a berth in the Vodacom Premier league team of the week .In the match Mbeya City forced an away goalless draw at Kagera Sugar .
