AFCON U-17 champions Mali continued with their dominant display against Ghana as they beat the Black Starlets 2:1 to earn a semifinal berth in the U17 world cup.
The African champions begun the match on a high dictating proceeding from the onset and their efforts paid off when Hadji Dramane broke the deadlock early in the 15th minute of the first half.
The Paa Kwesi Baa charges responded pilling more pressure on Mali’s half but were unlucky when the referee disallowed an Ibrahim Sulley goal in the 41st minute citing a foul by the Ghanaians inside the box.
The Eaglets came to the second half rejuvenated and doubled their lead in the 61st minute courtesy of a Djemousa Traore strike but Ghana pulled one back from the spot kick courtesy of a Kudus Mohammed in the 70th minute.
This was Mali’s third win in a row against Ghana in the last 5 months.
