South African club Mamelodi Sundowns have extended contracts for Bafana Bafana wing back Thapelo Morena and Uruguayan midfielder Gaston Sirino that will see them stay for another five years.
Sundowns announced the deals on Tuesday saying that the duo have put pen to paper and signed contract extensions with the Brazilians until 2025.
Morena has expressed his excitement to commit his future with the Brazilians. The 26-year-old has been out injured since February but is slowly gaining his fitness.
He has thanked everyone for their support during his injury period.
“I am very grateful to everyone who supported me through my injury time,” he told club website.
“Masandawana I am happy and excited to let you know that I have extended my contract with Mamelodi Sundowns, we still have a long way to go and many more trophies to win! Ka Bo Yellow!,”
Sundowns have also tied Uruguayan Gaston Sirino who they see as a key member of the squad.
The 29-year old midfielder says he is looking to win more trophies with the South African club.
“I am happy to extended my contract at the club, me and my family are happy and settled here in Mzansi so that gives me comfort to push hard on the pitch,” Sirino said.
“I believe my best years are ahead of me, and am confident we will add trophies with this group of players.”
