Mamelodi Sundowns have announced the arrival of a new Director of Academy and Scouting.
The reigning Absa Premiership champions unveiled Jose Ramon Alexanko, who played for Spanish giants Barcelona as a centre back during his playing days. As a player, he won four La Liga titles with the Catalan outfit.
After retiring in 1993, Alexanko went to work as a coach in Romania, but returned to Barcelona in 2000 as an assistant to first team head coach Carles Rexach.
In 2005 he served as a youth system coordinator at Barca, before moving over to take up the role of director of football at Valencia in 2017.
The 63-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the Absa Premiership champions.
