Kenyan International defender Brian Mandela scored a goal in Maritzburg 3-2 loss at the hands of Cape Town City in a Premier Soccer League (PSL) match played on Tuesday night at the Anthlone Stadium.
Mandela played for 90 minutes but couldnt prevent his side from going down to the striking prowess of on form Cape Town City who inched a point clear of Bidvest Wits on the table.
In an entertaining encounter Brian Mandela slotted home in the sixth minute from a close range to put his side ahead.
City equalized in the 19th minute with Lehlohonolo Majoro low strike to make it one all before half time.
The home side proved too strong for Maritzburg in the second half taking the lead shortly after the halftime with Sibusiso Masina calm shot past Maritzburg goalie.
That goal pushed on Maritzburg and they grabbed an equalizer in the 54th minute courtesy of Evans Rusike strike.
With the last twenty last minutes seeming to produce a see saw contest City through Lebogang Manyama restored their lead in the 75th minute when Lebogang Manyama with a well converted cross.
