Kenya’s oldest rivalry pitting Gor Mahia versus AFC Leopards (Mashemeji Derby or Nairobi Derby) which was initially booked at Nyayo Stadium has been moved to Moi Sports Center Kasarani Sunday.

This is due to unavailability of Nyayo Stadium which has been shut for renovation.

The clash will be the third meeting of the two arch rivals this season and will be the 82nd in the Kenyan Premier League.

Gor Mahia managed a double over their “Mashemejis” over the last two ties and are salivating for a repeat.

The coach Dylan Kerr’s side has been bullish – winning four of the last four league matches – stretching their lead in the table standings to forty points.

Their last outing at Kisumu Stadium over the weekend was a 2-1 win over Muhoroni Youth.

AFC Leopards on the other hand have been floundering and are flirting with relegation.

However, they redeemed themselves in Kenyan Cup over the weekend by qualifying for the semi-final – spanking National Super League side Wazito FC 7-1.

Ingwe as Leopards are popularly known boasts a superior head to head reacord against Gor Mahia.

In the 82 league clashes, they have won 27, lost 24 and drawn 30 times.

The other matches which have been shifted to Kasarani from Nyayo include:

23rd August

Sofapaka vs Nzoia Sugar
Gor Mahia vs Posta Rangers

24th August

AFC Leopards vs Tusker FC
