Uganda Cranes take on South Sudan in the AFCON 2021 group B qualifiers with the first game of the double header coming this afternoon, Thursday, 12th November 2020 at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende with kick off set for 4 pm EAT.
The return leg will be played on Monday, 16th November 2020 at the Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi.
The Uganda Cranes team has been engaged in training sessions for the past 10 days at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo and St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende in preparation for this game.
Both the head coach Johnathan McKinstry and Captain Denis Onyango expressed the readiness to take on the opponents.
“They are stubborn opponents. Gone are the days when they used to concede four or five goals,” Mckinstry said.
“We are confident of breaking down their resilience with full focus and professionalism. We have got the quality to go past them.”
And Onyango said: “It is never a walk over in football. The fact that they made it to the group stages shows that they have the quality to play at any stage.
“But to us it is all about winning and remaining focused. They are a very resilient team as they fight upto the end. We need to take our chances created in the game,” He concluded.
