A last minute grasp leveller by Emmanuel Mayuka, salvaged a point for Zamalek against USM Alger in the 2017 CAF Champions league group stages at Borg El Arab Stadium.

The Zambian striker, Mayuka who has been a target for many Zamalek fans–taking a swipe on him as being overweight, turned to be their savior.

The Knights bestrode this North Africa derby for half an hour. To the dismay of everyone, it was the Algerians, USM Alger who drew first blood, courtesy of Faraouk Charfai.

Deep into the second half, Coach Augusto Inacio gambled by bringing in Emmanuel Mayuka and it paid off.

A blunder at the back by USM Alger in additional time, after regulation time and Mayuka was proximity to restore parity as Zamalek remained top of the group.
