Tout Puissant Mazembe’s Coach Hubert Velud has bolstered his squad ahead of their trip to Sekondi,Ghana for the CAF Confederations Cup round five reverse fixture against Medeama SC on Sunday 14.

The five-time African champions have roped in old boy Chavda Maisha from a loan spell with Kinshasa’s Division I side Shark FC XI.

The center forward who has enjoyed a scintillating form in the lower league, scoring 12 goals for Shark arrived at the team’s camp at Kamalondo Training Center and Futuka after passing medicals.

He committed to Mazembe’s project of winning an African title this year.

“Returning to the TPM, I adhere to the project to win an African title. Being part of an ambitious project with the biggest club in the country has always been my goal, I always dreamt of winning a medal with my club. ”

Chavda is ready for competition

“Without competition, the players could not have the level they have today. At the club where I come from, there was a great challenge to the position of center forward. At TPM, it will be even harder because it is the highest level. As a footballer, I’m used to it, I’m about to overcome challenges and I will fight to win my place. At first, whenever I have the chance to get on land, I would try to bring what is expected of me.

Meanwhile the Lubumbashi giants played two warm-ups against FC Simba Kolwezi, Katanga on Sunday at Futuka winning 6-1 and 4-0 respectively.

The first match at 9AM saw Adama Traore hit a hat-trick, Roger Claver ASSALE a double and Solomon Asante a goal and two assists, while returning Gladson AWAKO assisted two goals.

In the second build up at 3:30 PM, the Frenchman assembled a heavy artillery, probably what he will deploy against Medeama on match day. Zambian Rainford Kalaba scored the first goal,Roger Assale grabbed a brace before Jonathan Bolingi headed home the fourth.

Tanzania winger Thomas Ulimwengu and Zambia’s Chipolopolo deputy captain Given Singuluma did not feature, but held light training as they continue to recover from injuries; the duo are also expected to make the trip to Ghana.

The team departs for Ghana on Thursday aboard their private jet. The first leg in Lubumbashi ended 3-1 in favor of Mazembe.
