Idris Illunga Mbombo is tomorrow expected to make an emotional return to his parent club Kabwe Warriors with Zesco United in a week 9 fixture of the FAZ/ MTN Super Division at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium.
Mbombo who scored more than 22 goals for Kabwe Warriors in their quest for promotion to the super division is in contention to play against his parent club.
Prominent Zambian football Journalist Punchellero Chama posted on social media platform Facebook that the Zesco United hitman who was signed on loan from Kabwe Warriors is eligible to feature in the game.
“Kabwe Warriors Chairman Hayden Dingwall has said that Idriss Mbombo is eligable to play against Kabwe Warriors this Weekend as there is no clause to prevent him from playing against Warriors,” Chama is quoted.
The Congolese striker is however just recovering from an Injury he picked up in Zesco United’s 1-0 slender win at Green Eagles and it will be interesting to see if George Lwandamina will risk him in the tie.
However, Zesco United have enough depth in their squad to do their business at Warriors even if Mbombo doesn’t feature in the squad.
Lwandamina still has the in-form Kenyan striker Jesse Jackson Were at his disposal to get him the necessary goals. Were has notched 7 goals in his last 3 games making him leading scorer in the Super Division with 8 goals.
