Russian Based Chipolopolo Midfielder Chisamba Lungu is a doubt for Zambia’s AFCON 2017 qualifier against Congo Brazzaville.According to a post on the National Broadcaster’s official Facebook page ”My ZNBC” ,The enterprising midfielder is rumoured to be injured.
The Zambia bench is yet to ascertain Russian-based midfielder Chisamba Lungu’s availability for next week’s 2017 Africa Cup Group E qualifier against Congo-Brazzaville.
unconfirmed reports suggest that the FC Ural midfielder will not travel for the Group E double-header due to injury.
“I got an unconfirmed report that Chisamba is injured. So I am still trying to reach him. I will make more efforts to reach him and then I will be able to say where we are as a team,” Zambia team manager Lusekelo
Kamwambi said in Ndola on Monday when the home-based players regrouped for the second week of training camp ahead of the qualifiers.
Kamwambi said Chisamba was the only doubt for now with the remaining nine foreign-based call-ups all expected to join camp starting this Friday.
He added that Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene and striker Winston Kalengo of Congo-Brazzaville side
AC Leopards will travel together to Ndola from Brazzaville immediately after their teams’ clashes in this weekend’s Caf
Champions League return leg.
Sundowns enjoy a 2-0 lead over Leopards from the first leg, home game played on March 12.
Meanwhile, 11 home-based players reported for camp with another eight due to join them by Monday evening.
The players expected are from Green Eagles and Green Buffaloes who had a league date
on Sunday that the latter won 1-0 away in Choma.
Zambia are second in Group E on four points, level with Congo who beat them to top spot on goal difference.
Chipolopolo will host Congo on March 23 in Ndola before traveling to Brazzaville on March 27.
