The Football Association of Zambia Appeals Committee has set aside the order of the Disciplinary Committee against Mufulira
Wanderers Football Club, to play their home games, at least 60 kilometers away from Mufulira.
The decision was arrived at
Tuesday’s hearing Chaired by Appeals Committee Chairman, Judge Martin Musaluke.
“We therefore set aside the order of the FAZ Disciplinary Committee against Mufulira Wanderers to play its next six (6) home games away from home. We instead reduce this to (2) two games. We also take cognizance of the fact that Mufulira Wanderers has already played two home games away from home, therefore, the
punishment has already been saved.Mufulira Wanderers Football Club is henceforth, allowed to play its remaining scheduled home games at Shinde Stadium in Mufulira.”
And Judge Musaluke has severely warned Mufulira Wanderers and its supporters against using unorthodox means when decisions of the referees do not go their way.
“Mufulira Wanderers and its supporters are severely warned not to engage themselves in barbaric imprudent and out-dated ways of expressing their disapproval of Referees’ decisions no matter how genuine .Football
Clubs and their supporters in the country at all levels are encouraged to embrace the
philosophy of fair play which includes non- violent conduct, before, during and after
football matches” concludes Judge
Musaluke’s verdict.
In August this year, Mufulira Wanderers were fined K5000 by the Disciplinary Committee following the abandonment of
their match against Zesco United. The Disciplinary Committee also fined the two Assistant Coaches for Mufulira Wanderers and further directed that the team plays all its remaining six home games away from Shinde Stadium. However Wanderers only
appealed against the decision of playing home games away from Shinde Stadium.
