Ethiopia Walia Ibex mounted a great performance and comeback in Addis Ababa to upset visitors Burundi Swallows 3-0 to qualify for the CHAN 2016 to be hosted by Rwanda.
Two goal hero Gatoch Panom led Walia to their second ever CHAN since they last qualified in 2014.
Walia Ibex came into the game needing to score 3 goals after falling 2-0 to Swallows last week a challenge many thought as impossible following the great performance by Burundi however coach Yohannes Sahle and the boys gave 100 percent on Sunday.
Seyoum Tesfaye broke the deadlock with a beautiful header in the 38tg minute as Ethiopia dominated the proceedings going into the half time break.
On resumption the second half was no different as Walia Ibex fired from all cylinders and theit pressure paid off handsomely when they were awarded a penalty and fantastic Gatoch Panom calmly slotted in for the second goal.
Gatoch Panom added his brace and Ethiopia third goal with a fine header to finish off a hapless Burundi who found the going difficult against a more determined Walia who held on for the famous win that ensured they will play at the CHAN 2016 in Rwanda.
The win was a welcome relief to coach Yohannes Sahle who had been criticised for last weekend loss but he silenced all critics with a deserved win that left fans chanting and singing celebrating the qualification.
