Meddie Kagere’s brace helped 5 star Gor Mahia to a 5-0 thumping of visiting Nakuru All Stars whose hopes of avoiding relegation seemed totally lost after yet another heavy loss.
The win ensured K’ogalo cemented their lead at the top of the table with 30 points, nine points ahead of second placed AFC Leopards who gave garnered 21.
Meddie Kagere brought thunderous cheers when he headed home the match opener at the stroke of half time with a clever header past the Nakuru Allstars keeper.
Defender Abuba Sibomana received a sublime pass from Michael Olunga as he set up Kagere who sneaked inside a packed defence to head the ball home past All Stars impressive Keeper Shyne Indimuli.
Gor who led 1-0 before the breather turned All stars defence upside down taking the second goal in the 69th minute through Michael Olunga’s header off Sibomana’s cross.
Gor went for the kill with Ali Abondo extending Kogalo’s lead after 72 minutes from the spot after Olunga was brought down in the danger zone by Elias Kipkemboi as Kagere got his brace in the 75th minute with a beauty of a goal rounding off keeper Indimuli with a sweet back heel to give Mighty Kogalo the forth.
