Former Harambee Stars head coach Sebastian Migne has called out Football Kenya Federation (FKF) for not settling his pay.
Migne, in an interview with a local station Switch TV, said that he might be forced to approach world governing body FIFA should the Federation not honour their part of the deal.
“The Federation told me it’s a process when it comes to regularising the payments. So I will give them time. However, if this isn’t done by Summer, I will go to FIFA,” the Frenchman said.
Migne was unveiled as Starts head coach in May 2018. He penned a three year deal but after an underwhelming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) exit and defeat to Tanzania in a 2019 CHAN qualifier, FKF pulled the plug. Kenya finished third behind Senegal and Algeria and won only one match against neighbours Tanzania.
For that win, they were to get match bonuses and the now Equatorial Guinea head coach, he explained that they haven’t received any money.
“The players and my staff, we haven’t received the money yet. We just continue to wait.”
Migne is the third tactician to rein in the Nick Mwendwa led Federation in pursuit of his dues.
Belgian coach Adel Amrouche won a Sh109 million compensation case that might see Kenya thrown out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup should he not be fully paid.
Bobby Williamson is also expecting some Sh55 million from FKF after he won a case for unprocedural dismissal in 2016 when Mwendwa took charge of the federation.
