Migori Youth Talent Academy has landed an international invite to participate in the SODERT ‘A’ LJE international Football Cup scheduled for 11th to 16th July 2016 in Sodertalije just otside the capital Stoclholm.
Speaking to Soka25east from the town on Migori,the Director of the Academy Abdi Aziz Osman said he hi rallying upon well wishers and those with football at heart to help him raise air tickets for the U14 team.
The Academy boasts of naturing talents of players such as Gor Mahia striker Enock Agwanda,former Sony Sugar defender Robert Ouma currently with Homeboyz,Former Gor Mahia stiker Dan Makori ,City Stars defender Calvin Massawa ,FC Talanta ‘s Calvince Oketch,Zetech’s Gideon Ogweno and Antony Ongoro.
A copy of the letter that is in possession with soka25east dated 31st January 2016 and addressed to Aziz Osman states that
“We are delighted to invite Migori Youth Talent Academy, KENYA to participate in the above tournament for boys and girls from the age 9 to 17 years. The tournament starts 11 July to 16 July, but we can arrange stay from the 9 of July, 2016.
The cup is played in Sweden, Södertälje, just outside Stockholm, the capital of Scandinavia.
It is important that your teams obtain permission to travel and play the tournament from your authorized bodies hence, and forward the permission to our offices in advance. ‘
Aziz is also calling upon the County Government of Migori to help the Academy achieve this as this is the first time they are landing an invite outside East Africa and more so Europe.
The Academy has aslo travelled to Tanzanian City of Mwanza and Uganda’s Kampala for invitational tournaments.
In Uganda they participated in the Kampala Juniors Cup while in Mwanza they participated in the The Alliance East Africa Torurnament.
According to the Sif Cup website a total of 21 countries have confirmed participation and more others are planning.Kenya has listed between 8 to 12 participating teams with other countries set to confirm participation..
