FT. Sudan 0-2 Uganda (0-4 on aggregate)
Ceasar Okhuti struck on 43 minutes strike after combining with Farouk Miya to give the Uganda Cranes a 1-0 lead before skipper; Farouk Miya made it 0-2 in added time.
The lead took the Cranes’ aggregate to 4-0 and this meant the home side needed to score five without conceding again if they were to go through to finals to be hosted by Rwanda next year.
In second half, Cranes made some changes to protect the lead bringing in Frank Kalanda for Erisa Ssekisambu while Isaac Muleme replaced debutant Ayub Kiiza five minutes later.
After the change, Bernard Muwanga who had started in the midfield, shifted to his natural central defense position.
The visitors’ final change was made 15 minutes from time when Keziron Kizito came in for Muzamiru Mutyaba in midfield.
The Falcons tried everything in the second half but the Cranes’ defense stood firm.
Uganda now qualifies for the CHAN finals for the third time in a row.
Rwanda will host the finals early next year.
