The Black Stars of Ghana recorded an impressive 2-3 victory over Korea Republic in a Group H encounter played at the Education City Stadium on Monday.
Two goals from Mohammed Kudus and a strike from Mohamed Salisu gave Otto Addo’s men the first win of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
In what was a must win game, Ghana took the lead in the 24th minute after Salisu pounced on to a great free kick from Jordan Ayew.
Mohammed Kudus doubled the lead for the African side ten minutes later with a well taken header from another fantastic cross into the box by Jordan Ayew.
Cho Gue-Sung hit back for Korea Republic with a quick fire double heading passed Lawrence Ati-Zigi in the Ghana goal in the 58th and 61st minute respectively.
Ghana went ahead again with Kudus getting his second of the game. The goal from the Ajax man proved to be the match winner for the Black Stars.
The three points were secured a huge boost in their quest to qualify for the knock out phase.
Next up for Ghana is a match against Uruguay on Friday 2 December
