Uganda Cranes forward Mohammad Shaban and Kawempe Muslim star Hassifa Nassuna have been voted the most outstanding players for the season 2015/16 in the male and female categories as voted by fans.
Onduparaka FC forward deservely cappped of his wonderful season as he was excellent for his club making it earn promotion to Uganda Premier League as well as reaching Uganda Cup Finals.His success has seen him named in Cranes AFCON bound team for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, a first for Uganda in 39 years.
Shaban beat stiff competition from reigning sports jounalists footballer of the year Dennis Onyango and Standard Liege forward Farouk Miya to win the Airtel sponsored trophy.
For Hassifa she faced challenge from her teammate Ruth Aturo of Kawempe Muslim and Sadra Nabwetere who plays proffesional football with Oklohama University.
At the same time, KCCA coach Mike Mutebi took the Azam Premiership Coach of the Season Award, while Standard Liege’s Faruku Miya was voted as Fans favorite.
SC Vipers were awarded with FUFA fair play award having accumulated few cards during the season.
Ali Tomusange won the FUFA Presidential award,while Nkumba Selects’ Roch Somoka took Beach soccer player of the year.
The colourful event was presided by FUFA president Eng. Moses Magongo.
