Liberia’s Lone Stars will play Atlas Lions of Morocco on August 31 in an international warm up in Casablanca.
A letter from Morocco federation’s Secretary General to their Liberian counterparts dated August 10,2016 confirmed the same as stated on the West Africans Facebook page.
“The Moroccan Football Federation expressed esteem sentiments to Liberia and said it looks forward to the international friendly that is of mutual benefit to both countries.” The statement read partly.
The match will be staged at Kenitra Stadium.
Morocco in group “A” are through to AFCON 2017 while Liberia in group “A” will have to at least beat Tunisia in the last round of qualifiers in the first week of September to guarantee a spot in Gabon. Lone Stars ranked 92 in June are also in contention for one of the two slots reserved for two best second placed teams.
The Atlas Lions ranked 53 will host a relatively easy fixture against Sao Tome and Principe, a team they thrashed 3-0 last year, in their last qualifier in Marrakech.
