Benin’s star striker Steve Mounie is bouyant ahead of the weekend clash with the Scorpions of Gambia.
Speaking to soka25east, the striker said that he was in good shape and would score against fellow West Africans during the Sunday June 11 2017 match.
The danger-man who slotted in his first international goal in a match aganist South Sudan said that he would go on a rampage at the Contonou during the much awaited Group ‘D’ encounter.
A win for Benin will be a good beggining that will keep their hopes of qualifying for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Cameroon.
The striker has been in brilliant form for his French Ligue 1 club Montpellier snatching 14 goals in the last season.
“I hope to score my second goal on Sunday.But the main thing is the victory, we have to win.Whoever who scores,even if it is Saturnin or Farnolle that marks, we win and it is the essential,”said Mounie.
Mounie is among threeother strikers selected for the international duty.He will be playing for his eighth time for the national team.
