Ethiopia Premier League’s Dire Dawa City Football Club have appointed Zelalem “Mourinho” Shiferaw as the Head Coach on a two-year contract replacing Meseret Mane who was sacked at the end of the season.
The appointment brings to a close a historic chapter on Mane’s reign as the only woman Coach to have handled men’s top league club in Africa.
Mane leaves a solid legacy having promoted Dire Dawa to EPL and helped them maintain the status on first attempt, proving the saying what a man can do a woman can do even better.
“Mourinho” who is joining from Sadima Coffee doubles up as the assistant Coach of Walia Ibex.
Previously he has coached South Police,Dedebit,Adama City and Hawassa City in his chequered coaching career.
