Mighty Mufurila Wanderers is one of the biggest Clubs in Zambian Football History but their current position on the log does not reflect their Legacy in way. The Club has won a lot of honors including a winning the league 3 years in raw, a feet only matched by Kabwe Warriors and Nkana Football Club .
To help those not so familiar with how big the legacy of Mufurila Wanderers is, here is the list of honors they have won

Cup/Mosi Cup): 10

Unity Cup: 8

With a rich history like this, One wonders how they can find themselves wallowing in the waters of relegation with 21 points after 26 games having only managed to win 4 games, drawing a record high 15 times [highest for any club in the ZSL this season] and losing 7 games.
The Club of late has become a training ground for foreign coaches who have not proven themselves anywhere. After firing Manfred Chabinga [or did manfred leave on his own? The story their is not so clear] they wanted an Egyptian Ahmed Soliman who came with papers in a language no one could understand [Even under qualified at the time]. He was told to organise his situation by Football house and went back to home. They brought a portuguese Paulo Silva who most people myself included feel was way worse than Manfred.
In Zimbabwe’s PSL,Pablo Jorge Silva only lasted five matches at the popular Harare giants coach before he was relieved of his duties.
He was fired recently and Ahmed Soliman (born 11 December 1965) a former Egyptian basketball player returned to take over even oversaw the home draw with Lusaka dynamos. Soliman competed for Egypt at the 1988 Summer Olympics, where he scored 4 points in 4 games.
Mufurila wanderers have been accused of poor showing on the field of play and rightfully so. They have been involved in almost all of the boring matches this season, their last game not being an exception.
Zambian Football Blogger Bwezani Mbewe had this to say after the game aginst Lusaka dynamos
“One of the most boring game of the weekend and you have to start asking yourself if the Mufulira Wanderers knows where the problem is with the team. Is it the coach, players or the EXCO? If you watched the team for the past games under Silver and today its difficult to see the difference. The problem is deeper than what is being sorted out.
Mufulira Wanderers needs strikers and not
coaches at the moment and the faster the team
realizes that the better for one of the big teams of the country. Relegation is now a serious possibility for Mufulira Wanderers and Lusaka Dynamos but for Lusaka Dynamos they will be happy they have a point away from Mufulira Wanderers.”
A solution needs to be found and very quickly to salvage the little respect the club still commands. The team has too much history to be performing this pathetic in the league.
