Muhoroni Youth for residential camp ahead of City tie Saturday

By Bonface Osano,

Muhoroni Youth CEO James Orundu has confirmed that  the team will be heading to camp in an exclusive location within Kisumu County this evening as they continue with their preparations ahead of a do or die battle for three points against fellow Strugglers City Stars on Saturday 9th at the Muhoroni Stadium. The camp is intentioned for the players and technical bench to bond and focus on the task ahead.

Smarting from the 3-0 rout in the hands of Mathare United last weekend, the Awasi outfit needs to fix a defense that looked shambolic against the Slum Boys.Coach Francis emphasized this in his post-match interview. Apart from striker Anthony Nyangor who has not fully recovered from a knee injury and first choice keeper Allan Owiny who picked a knock in training and are doubtful for the tie the rest of the Muhoroni squad will be available for selection. A win for Muhoroni will see them jump to 11th from 13th position in the KPL log with 13 points.

City Stars upped their training ahead of the Nyanza visit with a friendly match against FKF Premier league side Ligi Ndogo on Wednesday in which they won 4-0 and Coach Paul Nkata is hoping to put behind him the poor start to the season, “We wanted to keep fit and also see which formations we can employ in our future matches. We also wanted to give our fringe players a chance to play so that we see how they can slot into the team.” He told soka25east.com

A win for the Kwangware side will lift them just above the relegation zone. Match kick off at 3PM.
