Kenyan international defender Musa Mohammed has confirmed terminating his contract with FK Tirana over pay dispute.

“It’s all about my pay,” Musa, who is currently in the country said, while refuting Tirana coach Ze Maria’s claims that he failed to adapt to life in Europe.

“It’s not easy for a foreigner to stay abroad without money especially for me who was used to being paid at Gor Mahia. Since January I have not earned my salary.

“What’s more, when I ask senior officials of the club about it they keep taking me in circles without any commitment of paying even in future.

“It doesn’t make sense when your family calls you seeking financial assistance and you can’t give anything and everybody knows you are in Europe so I had to quit,” Musa said.

“If you are settled then you can perform; it’s not about me failing to adapt,” he added.

He says midfielder Kenneth Muguna whom they moved together with to the East European club is also going through the same tribulations.

When he penned two and a half-deal, Muguna was offered a four-year-contract.

Musa’s senior career blossomed at Gor after joining the Nairobi-based regional giants straight from High School.

During his time, he bagged four KPL titles including the 2016’s while captain.

“I have been in touch with Ambrose Rachier (Gor’s president) of a possible return; I’m waiting for his response.”
