Uganda Premier League
Maroons vs KCCA, 4:00pm
Saturday
Muzamir Mutyaba, Richard Ayiko and Martin Mpuga will be in line to face old club Maroons FC in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) when KCCA FC visit Luzira prisons ground this Saturday.
Whereas Mutyaba was Maroons’ midfield enforcer a few years ago, Mpuga was their inspirational skipper and defensive rock before he also joined SCVU in 2013.
Inside the Prison walls of Luzira, KCCA FC playmaker Muzamir Mutyaba is treated like a demigod.
Without doubt, he is one of their best graduates and a symbol of the ‘skilled products’ passed out by the by their academy.
However the creative midfielder says the tie is no different from other fixtures.
“I take the Maroons tie like any other league game and I will have no second feeling while playing against them,” Mutyaba, who played for the Luzira side for six solid years before joining SCVU, says in a low tone.
KCCA whose head coach Mike Mutebi will also be returning to his once club Maroons, acquired the services of Ayiko this season while Mutyaba and Mpuga where picked from SC Victoria University in the just concluded summer transfer window.
Maroons are looking at collecting maximum points against KCC to improve their status in the league as a shaky start has left the team lying in the not pleasant 14th position of the AUPLwhile KCCA FC will be aiming at reclaiming table summit.
Maroons Coach Asaph Mwebaze has demanded that his young talented players develop self-discipline, commitment, concentration and follow instructions to start getting positive results.
“The team has to work hard and get a good result when they take on Kampala City Council (KCC) Saturday at Luzira prisons grounds,” he says.
On the prospect of meeting old boy Mutyaba, Mwebaze is both excited and afraid.
“He inspires my boys to work hard and make it to the big clubs like KCCA and playing for the national team. We made him and that means we have the ‘medicine’ for his creative danger,” Mwebaze told the visitors’ official website.
Maroons come into the fixture straight from losing 1-0 away to fellow new comers JMC Hippos whereas the visitors had their game against Bright Stars FC postponed because of having more than three players on the Uganda Cranes team that qualified for CHAN finals.
KCC FC have played six games winning four, drawing two and losing none while Maroons FC have lost 5 of their games this season, drawn one and winning one game against the Saints FC.

Godfrey Kiyemba will miss the tie after picking a red card in the 1-0 loss to JMC Hippos at Kakindu stadium while KCC midfielder Jackson Nunda will be returning from an injury scare for the Saturday game.

KCCA FC Team News;
The fears of fast rising left-sided midfielder Jackson Nunda missing the Maroons visit on Saturday were all erased by his energetic display in the Wednesday friendly 4-0 win over Regional side Kyengera FC.
He had sustained a knock in last week’s training session and there was an initial alarm that he had torn his left muscle but he has since recovered.
“We still have skipper Tom Masiko on the sidelines and we hope Nunda’s industrious midfield drive, passing rate and eye for goal can temporarily cover that,” revealed KCCA FC assistant coach Sam Ssimbwa.
