Thika United FC coach James Nandwa says the team will beat Bandari FC when the two sides meet in a Kenya Premier League match on Sunday 16 April at Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa.

Ahead of the clash Thika United are currently placed in the seventh position on the standings and they will be eying for second straight win after beating Zoo Kericho in last weekend match.

“I think this will be an easier fixture for me. Last week we played Zoo Kericho, and I didn’t know how to plan for them because I wasn’t familiar with how they like to play.

Nandwa further revealed that he has clearly studied his opponent and he knows their weakness and that will play to advantage for his side.

” Bandari is different because I know their style of play and so I can plan appropriately for them. One of their strengths is that they have a good goalkeeper. We have to create well and executive well if we are to beat him.”

Meanwhile, Nandwa will miss services of dependable winger Benson Iregi after he failed to recover a knee injury sustained in training a week ago.

Iregi played a key role during the last outing where he provided the assist for Eugene Mukangula’s sixth minute goal in the 2-0 victory over defending champions Tusker FC on Sunday 19 March.

His place is expected to be taken by Salim Mzee and former FC Talanta winger Peter Okoth will be competing for the slot.

Should things go Nandwa’s way, Thika United will leap off from where they sit with six points after 4 rounds of play , to sit second, or third, depending on the margin of win.

Bandari is currently placed fourth with 7 points and a win for them will lift them to the second position of the log with ten points.
