A brace from Kenyan international Jesse Were sealed all the three points for Zesco United away to Napsa Stars in a midweek Zambian Super League match on Wednesday 27 at Woodlands Stadium.
The win was “Team ya Ziko’s” fourth in four fixtures as they continued with their impeccable form that has seen them reach the lucrative CAF Champions League group phase.
John Chinjandu set up Jesse for the opener in 34th minute for a 1-0 lead at the interval.
He doubled the lead in the 67th minute to silence the home fans and guarantee the Coach George Lwandamina’s side all the three points.
It’s been a fruitful one week for the Kenyans plying their trade with the Ndola based side, scoring vital goals for their team. Against Green Eagles on Saturday, defender David Owino ‘Calabar’ scored the only goal of the match to hand Zesco all the three points.
Another Kenyan Anthony Agai Akumu has cemented his position in the midfield and has so far played in almost all competitive matches for Zesco this season.
