Nebojsa Jovovic, 43, has inked a two-year-contract as the new manager of Zamalek SC in the Egyptian Premier League.

He succeeds Portuguese gaffer Augusto Inacio who was sacked in July this year after the White Knights failed to progress past the CAF Champions League group phase.

Nebo, as the former striker is popularly known, impressed Zamalek’s president Montarda Monsour after his exploits in the Arab Champions League, where he guided Jordan’s Faisaly to the final.

Zamalek, five-times CAF Champions League winners, finished third in the EPL last season behind winners and arch rivals Al Ahly – failing to qualify for the premium Africa club tournament next year.

Since Mansour’s tenure began in 2014, the Cairo giants have had 15 managers.
