Ghana Football Federation (GFA) is set to unveil the new Black Stars head coach by April 15,2017.
This was revealed by a five member committee who have finished interviewing the shortlisted coaches with sources revealing that the association had already sealed the deal with the new head coach and were just waiting to reveal his name.
The team has been without a coach since the end of February 2017 after the expiry of Avram Grant contract.
Earlier this month,media reports indicated that ex-France star Willy Sangol and former Black Stars’ coach Kwasi Appiah were GFA’s top-two choices.
However, latest report indicate Hugo Broos,who won the 217 Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon as the favorite basing on the comments made by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantakyi who doubles as the search committee chairman.
“The criteria included: vision and philosophy of the person, experience in coaching, age, educational and professional qualification, track record, health and physical fitness, morale and criminal record and others,” he told the media.
The GFA president also admitted Kwasi Appiah has chances of grabbing the position .To him Appiah has improved as a coach since he left the Black Stars’ job three years ago.
Black Stars coach search committee was expected to meet Monday April 3, 2017 and submit its final report to the executive committee within the week.
