Swedish Club Djurgardens, in which Kenyan striker Michael Olunga is signed to, has appointed former Manchester United player Mark Dempsey as its new Coach on a one year contract.

The 52-year old, was announced as the manager on Wednesday 3 August 2016 filling up the void left by the departure of Per Pelle Olsonn who signed Olunga to the team.

Dempesy played for Manchester United from 1982-86.He also served as youth coach with Manchester United before moving to Norway where he took position of youth development coach with Tromso IL.

In 2016, Dempsey became FK Haugesund ‘s manager a position resigned on 14 July 2016.

In another development Djurgårdens Gambian central defender Omar Colley is on the way to KRC Genk in Belgium.Reports from a reliable source say talks are on advanced stage for the defender to join the Belgian club.

Djugardens have lost their last five games, a streak that makes them hold 14th position just one position off the relegation mark with only 15 points. They have only recorded two wins, drew two and lost 12 after 16 rounds of matches.

The team will host IFK Goteborg in their next league outing slated for Tele2 Arena on Monday 8th August 2016.
