The long awaited Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) elections will take place 3rd June 2018 in Semera, Afar.
Newly constituted EFF Electoral Committee set the date for both presidential and executive committee polls.
The elections have been postponed five times in the past with the bone of contention being perceived biased composition of the key bodies charged with conducting the process.
But following FIFA directive the General Assembly of the EFF held an emergency meeting on 5th May to elect a new electoral committee.
From a total of 13 candidates, five were elected to the electoral body with three getting the nod to head appeal’s committee.
FIFA then sent electoral code having given the process the green light.
The electoral committee is expected to vet candidates for various positions from 18th to 21st May.
Candidates with any disputes will be allowed three days to appeal starting 23rd May before a final list of candidates is published on 28th May.
EFF have up-to 30th June to conduct the polls failure to which they will attract sanctions from FIFA.
