SportPesa Premier League will resume on 11th March 2017 with increasing speculations on whether the Kenya Premier League Limited and Football Kenya Federation are prepared to handle the league after delays, sources have told soka25east.

The league was initially scheduled to start on 6th February but the body postponed following the mis-understandings between the two parties around league composition and participants.

The  new kick-off date comes after Football Kenya Federation decided to open legal proceedings against KPL’s top officials namely KPL chairman, James Musyoki, his predecessor Ambrose Rachier, CEO Jack Oguda and founder Bob Munro.FKF  accused the quartet of scuttling the agreement to expand the league to 18 teams.

FKF insisted the decision to freeze the league and charge the four officials was reached by the National Executive Committee that was ready to make sure Muhoroni Youth FC and Sofapaka FC would not be a part of the top flight this year despite the KPL Governing Council moving to include them in their fixtures programme.
