Moroccan new kids on the block RS Berkane stumbled to a 3-0 loss to OC Safi in the Moroccan Botola in their penultimate game before the CAF Confederation Cup final against Zamalek.
Despite their endeavours in the CAF Confederation Cup, Berkane have struggled in the league this season and currently find themselves in 8th place.
This week they came up against a similarly placed team in OC Safi, and while there was not much to play for in terms of league position it was still important for Berkane to keep some momentum heading into the final.
This did not go according to plan as following a goalless first half, Safi took the lead through Mohamed Farhan early in the second half. Berkane capitulated towards the end when Boa and Ouattara made it 3-0 in the last ten minutes.
RS Berkane will now have one more game against league leaders Wydad Casablanca before hosting Zamalek on May 19th.
