Kisumu Palos football club this evening outclassed giants and star studded Nakumatt FC 1-0 in an entertaining match played today at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
This was the first match in the National Super League.
The lone goal was drafted by Mugisha Ivan within six minutes after resumption.
Palos goalkeeper Geoffrey Were stood tall in the goal thwarting efforts by experienced Ismael Dunga, Peter Nzuki and Joshua Oyoo.
The match was balanced in the first half but it was Ismael Dunga who had a real chance at goal only for his shot to be parried away by Were in the Palos goal.
Wanyama Edwin was pulled out after sustaining injury and was replaced by Abdurhaman Mohammed.
In the second half Alex Waiswa could have extended the lead after neatly passing through the Nakumatt defenders only for his shot to go straight to keeper Owade Ezekiel.
On resumption Ivan Mugisha gifted the hosts with a a goal as Nakumatt began searching for an equalizer.
Coach Govan brought in Joshua Oyoo to add punch upfront but the Palos defenders thwarted all the efforts.
Palos could have sealed it in the dying minutes but David Amimo With only the keeper to beat shot over bar.
