Yadah Are a point below
Zimbabwe Castle Premier Soccer League league table toppers Ngezi Platinum have surrendered their 100% start in 2017 soccer season.
Going down 1nil to a determined and resilient Yadah FC this afternoon at the National Sports Stadium in the capital Harare.
Prayer men Yadah FC got their all important three points through a 15th minute Brian Chikwenyu free kick. This was enough to send the premiership debutants into second position. A position they will occupy until the week five fixtures or if the teams with postponed games are fulfilled.
Ngezi could not find the formula to unlock the already showing stubbornness of Yadah. Who now stand at 8 points after four games. One point shy of their rivals today.
And Kelvin Kaindu’s Howmine got sigh of relief coming from a goal to take three points and out of early relegation waters. And straight to position 8 on the table. Were they will stay overnight awaiting results of the other matches scheduled for sunday afternoon the 23rd of April 2017.
Two goals in the space of ten minutes was all they needed for the lift up.
Chapungu had taken the lead in going into the second half, and the perhaps as it came towards the end of first half helped matters for the miners. Surely the break talk was needed.
Kuda Mushari brought life in the 70th win an equaliser. That spurred Howmine even more. Pascal Manhanga nine minutes later put a sealing on the three points, scoring in the 79th minute. A huge relief for the Zambian coach. The standing on the table was not looking too good considering the investment in the team both in playing personnel and technical bench.
Meanwhile, across town at Barbourfied Stadium Platinum FC could not capitalise on the faulty events in Harare, where early pacesetters Ngezi were losing.
Platinum looked like they were going straight for maximum points, when Charles Sibanda scored from a freekick in the 2nd minute.
But all the visitors had in their tank to show. That match went on and on without a goal and looked like it will end as a dull 1nil scoreline.
But Bulawayo City had other ideas as they could not Platinum steal all three points. M Dube equalised in the 70th minute to end the match in a stalemate.
Both Platinum FC and Bulawayo City now stand at 7 points and occupy position 3rd and 4th. Though the former have played a game less.
