Out of contract Nkana Congolese goalkeeper Scot Ngokene has said he is looking forward to sign a long-term contract extension with the 12-time league champions.

Ngokene who joined Nkana from Napsa Stars in 2014 has his two year deal with the Aggrey Chiyangi drilled side expiring next week and the club is yet to offer him a new contract.

He said in an interview from Lusaka yesterday that he remains hopeful that he is given a contract extension because his heart belongs to Nkana.

“At the moment I am in Lusaka on holiday with my family. We endured a very difficult season and it is sad for the fans and the players we are all disappointed that we did not win a trophy.

“My contract is coming to an end this month but I want to extend it because I belong to Nkana, the two years I have been here I have become a better player and I want to contribute to the success of this great club in coming seasons,” Ngokene said.

And under-20 midfielder Moses Nyondo said in separate interview in Kitwe yesterday that he is aiming to break into the Nkana main team next year.

Nyondo who plays for Young Nkana was part of the triumphant Zambia under –20 team that won the country’s eleventh Council of Southern African Football Association (COSAFA) title in South Africa recently.

“Winning the COSAFA under-20 championship is an honour for me, i see myself playing for the national team and professional football abroad soon but my immediate focus now is to break into the senior nkana team” Nyondo said.
