Three-time African cup of nations champions Nigeria are set to miss out on Chelsea striker who is currently on loan at Swansea City Tammy Abraham, after he earned his maiden call-up to the Three Lions of England for their upcoming friendlies against Germany and Brazil in November.
The 20-year-old who is eligible to play for Nigeria because his father is Nigerian, has been facing intense interest from the Nigerian Football Federation and the FA president Amaju Pinnick who is a friend to the family to switch his allegiance ahead of the Russia 2018 World Cup and play for the Gernot Rohr led side Super Eagles of Nigeria, but the new developments may bring an end to the speculations.
The former Bristol City talisman took to social media to express his delight.
“Words can’t describe the feeling but truly blessed and honoured to be called up to the England Senior team, thanks for the messages.”
Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham has made appearances for all the English U-18, U-20 and U-21 sides.
