Nigerian Football Federation and Nike have unveiled new jersey for the Russia 2018 World Cup.
The jerseys were launched in London on Wednesday night where Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi, Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho all modeled the new kits.
The kit aims to inspire a new era of success for the Super Eagles and to spark brilliance in the players’ on-pitch performances.
The features of home kits that pay tribute to Nigeria ’94 shirt which was worn by the first Nigerian team to qualify for the World Cup – with eagle wing-inspired black-and-white sleeve and green torso while the away kits boast of the full green strip in a classic fashion.

Nike brings a fresh design and new innovation to the national team kit, such as the laser cut ventilation, which keeps the athletes cool while performing at high levels of pressure. The design of the jersey also seeks to provide less distraction for athletes so they can perform at their best.
The new kit expand when player is in motion, they are designed to maximize ventilation and reveal bold flashes of green and also highlights the most dynamic part of the footballer’s body, the lower legs, to accentuate speed.
While this new kit serves to inspire national pride, it has also been created to give players the very latest Nike innovations in fabric construction, performance technology, moisture management and environmental sustainability.
Nigeria will don the shirts for the five friendly games they will play ahead of the World Cup.
The Eagles are scheduled to play Poland, Serbia, Democratic Republic of Congo, England and Czech Republic before the tournament.
