The Nigerian Football Federation yesterday penned a lucrative 5-year partnership agreement with energy solutions company Aiteo Group worth USD 8.12 million.

The deal, a first for Aiteo in the sports industry in the country, confers on them the title of “Official Optimum Partner of the NFF.”

The partnership will commence May 1st, and has an initial option of one-year extension.

“Aiteo Group’s overarching social responsibility objectives are to encourage a positive impact through our activities on the society at large,”

“Football brings joy to the lives of Nigerians,” Ndiana Abasi, Aiteo’s Senior Manager, Corporate Communications said.

Part of the money will pay salaries and allowances of all national teams coaches, according to sources.

“This is a long awaited injection of funds the NFF has earnestly yearned for.

“We share a vision of excellence to promoting the delight of football – loving Nigerians,” Ademola Olajire, NFF’s media officer said.

NFF boss Amaju Pinnick expressed delight a part of the organization’s most important expenditure is now taken care of.

“I am very happy that a critical area of our expenditure is being taken care of by this agreement,” Amaju, CAF’s Executive Committee member said.

The NFF, like many African FAs has had challenges paying salaries and allowances of their national teams coaches.
