Nigeria’s national women’s football team, the Super Falcons will meet up on Monday, October 15 for the start of their 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) preparation.
The first camping phase which will be solely for locally-based players ends on October 28.
With players named in the provisional squad already contacted – Those who survive the first phase screening will join the second camping which commences on October 29 with the invited professionals players in Abuja.
Head coach Thomas Dennerby is expected to announce his final 21-woman squad for the championship and presented to CAF before November 4.
The 10-time champions will be looking to defend their title they lifted in Cameroon two years ago and qualify for the FIFA World Cup in France next year.
Nigeria have been to every Africa Women’s Cup of Nations since its inception in 1991.
The draw for the final tournament will be held on October 21 at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.
The 11th edition of Africa Women Cup of Nations hosted by Ghana is scheduled for November 17 to December 1, 2018 and will be played across two cities – Accra and Cape Coast.
