12 time Zambia super league champions, Nkana football club on Saturday will be looking to end a 2 year jinx against Green Buffaloes in away matches. The 2013 Champions last beat Green Buffaloes in Lusaka in 2014 in a week 26 fixture two goals to one.
Nkana scored their goals through Maybin Chishimba and Shadreck Musonda while Green Buffaloes pulled one back through Victor Chimbulu.
A match of this magnitude needs a big game player and they don’t come any better than Walter Bwalya, The 2016 super league topscorer returns from a 3 match ban and will be looking to add more goals to his 1 strike in week one against Nakambala Leopards.
The return of the former Forest Rangers man has delighted many Nkana faithfuls and Walter is no exception as he is relishing Saturday’s crunch encounter with the Army sponsored out-fit.
” Obviously am very happy to be back,” Walter told Soka25east.com in an exclusive interview.
” My target for the game on saturday is to win the match and make our supporters happy,” he added.
This match rarely ends in draw as the last 13 matches proves, with only one draw recorded over a span of 7 years. Nkana have won seven while Green Buffaloes have managed 5 wins.
The stats and current form seem to be on Nkana’s side but Green Buffaloes fan Richard Mwila believes his team can come out victorious but admits Nkana have a slight edge over Buffaloes.
” The game will be unpredictable, but looking at how both sides have faired so far, nkana stand a better chance of collecting maximum points, But then again Green buffaloes won’t easily lose the three points, as you know, Green buffaloes player’s always step up in such game’s, knowing that pride his at stake, last season Green buffaloes surprised everyone when they beat nkana both home and away,” Richard told Soka25east.com
” Coming to the player’s, Green buffaloes recalled jack chirwa from Angola, and he showed in the game against Nchanga Rangers that he was the missing link. He stabilized the midfield, the thing missing is the creativity hopefully subasatian mwansa will step up,” The passionate Buffaloes fan further added.
The Match will be played at heroes stadium on Saturday at 13:00hrs and will be live on Supersport. The game is expected to produce goals as the last 13 games has seen 32 goals scored an average of 2.5 goals per game.
