ZANACO 1-2 NKANA

Bestone Chambeshi began his new reign as Nkana coach with a victory against Numba Mumamba’s Zanaco as Iddriss Mbombo scored a late winner to beat Zanaco in the Samuel Zoom Njobvu Charity Shield semi final at Nkoloma Stadium .

Festus Mbewe, who was coming back to his home at Nkoloma equalised for Nkana after Chavda Maisha had scored the first for Zanaco early on in the first half.

Bestone has even more reason to be cheerful ahead of the start of the new Super League season which starts in the fortnight but it’s more likely that they won’t be available for the start of the season with engagement in the CAF confederation Cup.

Zanaco has been eliminated at the same stage of the shield as in 2017 by the same team and even with a weakened side of Zanaco, Nkana have every right to celebrate this victory as they prepare for a big encounter in Algeria.

Zanaco will be welcoming a Swaziland outfit in the CAF Champions League first round in Mbabane Swallows while Nkana will be hosted by CR Belouizdad in Algeria.

Nkana will play the winner of the second semi final between Zesco United and Napsa Stars to be played on Saturday 3rd March with the final slated for 10th March 2018.

The 2018 soccer season has just kicked off….
