FAZ MTN SUPER LEAGUE WEEK TWELVE DONE
What a weekend and finally Mufulira Wanderers get their second win of the season as Nkwazi give four past Kabwe Warriors.
WINNERS
MUFULIRA WANDERERS, NKWAZI, NKANA, LUSAKA DYNAMOS, FOREST RANGERS AND GREEN EAGLES
MUFULIRA WANDERERS
They forgot about their problems for a while as they ended up on the winning side against Power Dynamos in a game that ended 1-0. Mufulira Wanderers could not have scored themselves but that won’t matter as a win was only on thoughts of the team and it counted as Francis Kasonde scored an own goal that game Mufulira Wanderers a well-deserved win. Without a doubt they were the better side of the afternoon at Shinde and Power Dynamos was always second best. Mighty are out of the relegation zone and that’s relief enough. Well done Mpaka Litente.
NKWAZI
Who could have thought of that score line, 4-1 against a Kabwe Warriors side that is not an easy side to beat and that victory will mean Nkwazi is a side ready for this season. Who could also doubt why Elijah Chikwanda has been drafted into the National Team squad. He really has drilled this team very well and the results are showing. But the big news will be Justin Shonga who scored all the four goals for Nkwazi and this will be one of his highlights without a doubt in the Super League history. Well done Nkwazi.
NKANA
They say to be Champion, you need to grind results anywhere you go and that’s what Nkana did in Mazabuka as they took on Nakambala Leopards. This was always going to be a tough game as Nakambala don’t drop points at home but it took one chance on the spot kick by Walter Bwalya towards the end of the first half to get all the three points back to Kitwe and those three points means Nkana will remain top of the league even after the games in Ndola pitting Zesco and Zanaco. Second Vs third.
LUSAKA DYNAMOS
Another away win that was not expected looking at what NAPSA has done in recent games but it was a Lusaka derby that was always going to have few goals and yes there were few goals as the goa of Luka Chamanga decided the toss as Lusaka Dynamos stayed clear of the relegation zone beating NAPSA 1-0.
FOREST RANGERS
This Forest Rangers should be one of the big movers on the log from the relegation zone to go seventh, above Nakambala, Red Arrows, Nchanga Rangers and Lusaka Dynamos. It’s a big win for the Ndola side and it was Felix Nyaende again with a double that could be very big for the team this season.
GREEN EAGLES
AS always Eagles don’t score those many goals and that has disadvantaged them to move another step as they have some inferior goal difference that has to be improved. But what is most important is that Paul Malama scored and attained the three points that brings relief to the Choma based side.
DRAW
ZESCO 1-1 ZANACO
The big game of the weekend ends in a 1-1 draw and both teams share points with Toaster Nsabata the man of match who seriously kept ZANACO in the game. Not too good a result for both teams but ZANACO will be excited that they are still unbeaten.
LOSSES
POWER DYNAMOS, KABWE WAARIORS, NAKAMBALA LEOPARDS, NAPSA, LUSAKA TIGERS AND MUFULIRA BLACKPOOL
POWER DYNAMOS
They lost to Mufulira Wanderers through the goa scored by Francis Kasonde and that loss drops Power Dynamos to sixth position and it’s a draw back for the team that was bubbling with confidence after the firing of Tenant Chilumba. Power Dynamos were very poor on the day and they need to up the game if results are expected to change at Arthur Davies.
KABWE WARRIORS
The worst beaten side in Week 12 and Fatty didn’t know what hit them after playing a very good first half but I don’t think they will kill themselves so much on that result but will move on and try to improve their results.
NAKAMBALA LEOPARDS
They remain 7th and they would have wished to pick maximum points against Nkana as the teams below them are coming up with a couple of them with games in hand. But they lost via a spot kick and they have not played that bad themselves.
NAPSA
NAPSA are just outside the relegation zone and the loss to Lusaka Dynamos have given them serious danger. Not yet safe and the teams in the bottom are seriously fighting for points and every game will be like a final from now on.
LUSAKA TIGERS
Another loss for Lusaka Tigers and that is the third loss of the season and once they opened up the game away to Forest Rangers they were playing on the thin line and that is what happened. They go one place down to 12th from 11th getting close to the relegation zone. Felix Nyaende punishing TIGERS.
MUFULIRA BLACKPOOL
Another loss on the road for Blackpool , it means they have played six games, drawn six and lost six and still on the foot of the log table, still waiting for the first win of the season. They will get back to Mufulira hoping

MY STATISTICS FOR WEEK NINE
Number of Goals scored: 13
BEST TEAM OF WEEK SIX FOR ME
NKANA
That away win by Nkana proves to be the most important win of the weekend as Nkana with the drawing of Zesco Vs ZANACO opens up a four point lead at the top of the table and you better start thinking that this could be NKANA’s 13th TITLE. DON’T COUNT THEM OFF.
But then FOREST RANGERS would for me follow NKANA closely as the biggest movers on the log in week 12.
MOST IMPROVED
MUFULIRA WANDERERS
That was a descent display in Shinde against Power Dynamos and Mufulira Wanderers can start hoping for another good result away at Power Dynamos which is another tough fixture. Things don’t look so good for Blackpool.
MOST DISAPPOINTING TEAM
KABWE WARRIORS
The 4-1 bashing at the hands of Nkwazi was the worst result of the weekend and Warriors get my vote as the worst side in Week 12.
FIGHT RELEGATION
NAPSA will take that slot from me, beating Kabwe Warriors, getting crucial draws and to lose at home to Lusaka Dynamos is something that will be seen very disappointing and that result is capable of sending the team into relegation zone.
