Sony Sugar management has recalled coach Leonard Odipo from the short leave with immediate effect, Soka25east can authoritatively state after a source privy to it revealed.
The decision was made after an emergency top organ meeting hurriedly convened by club chairman Paul Orato after Sony lost to Muhoroni at home.
Leonard Odipo will return and will have the option of naming his own goalkeeper trainer and a team manager. That means Stock Ouma has been relieved sed of his duties while goalkeeper trainer Gaddy Kawuondi will be forced to join the team as a player to assist Allan Owiny.
Sony Sugar fans today had no nice words for the technical bench calling on the officials to make radical changes in the bench with others pointing fingers at want away team manager Stock Ouma.
Coach Leonard Odipo is reported to be earning close to Ksh 120,000 in monthly salary and a decision of confidence in him as the coach was reached earlier before today’s match
A fan that did not want his name to be mentioned said ‘we would be doing nothing firing coaches year in year out yet the problem is with the team manager, the team manager should go’
Efforts to reach the club chairman were futile as he was still held up in the emergency meeting.
The chairman was spotted sitting at the rear end of the goal post area dominated by fans with a view of getting what the fans had to say and it’s this anger by fans that prompted him to call for an emergency meeting to effect the chances.
Earlier on stand in coach Babu Salim said he was under no pressure whatsoever and was at pain to explain the missing of his head coach. Speaking exclusively to Soka25east , the coach was a bitter man but retaliated that he wasn’t under pressure.
I am under no pressure, I assembled the best team of the day and I do assess the best after the last training. We missed the head coach here but again we created chances that we could not convert, we played well. Hopefully the coach will be back before our Rangers game’
Sony Sugar have just accumulated a point from five matches and face a tricky away fixture in Nairobi against wounded Rangers.
