Asante Kotoko have appointed former Hearts of Oak gaffer Charles Kwabena Akunnor as their new Head Coach.
The 44-year-old replaced Paa Kwesi Fabin who left his post after less than eight months in charge of the Porcupines Warriors.
The 5ft, 11 inches former Ghana midfielder inked a three-year contract with the 2017 MTN FA Cup champions on Monday.
He will be unveiled at the Sports Hotel in Kumasi on Wednesday.
Speaking after penning the deal, Akunnor said:”He is bringing on board a philosophy he calls the “Agroball” which combines entertainment with goals and hopes to get the support of the club’s hierarchy including the supporters.”
C.K Akunnor was hired by Ashanti Gold midway through the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League season, who were a point above the relegation zone but was able to transform their fortunes as he helped them to secure league safety.
Following his impressive short spell with the Miners, he was awarded a fresh contract by the club.
However, his time at the club did not last as he left due to a reported feud with the club’s president, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong affectionately called “Champion.”
He led the Miners to finish second with 27 points after the first round of the 2017/2018 Zylofon Cash Premier.
C.K Akunnor has enormous experience on the local scene, having coached Eleven Wise and Dreams FC.
