Hosts Senegal will face South Africa in the opening match of the 2015 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations on Saturday, 28 November 2015 at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium, Dakar.
The two teams will open the curtains for the eight team tourney which serves as ultimate lap for the continental qualifiers for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The two teams were drawn in Group A alongside Tunisia and Zambia at the draw for the second edition of the quadrennial tournament held on Monday, 14 September 2015 at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
Group B consists of Egypt, Algeria, Mali and Nigeria.
The Senegalese capital, Dakar will host Group A whilst Group B will be based in M’Bour.
Kenya was knocked out by Botswana in the first round qualifiers, the latter falling to Zambia who made it to the finals.
Gabon won the inaugural tournament in 2011 with a 2-1 win over hosts Morocco, while Egypt claimed the third automatic place. The final tournament will run from 28 November to 12 December 2015, with the top three teams qualifying to represent Africa at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
