The exit of coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has been touted as a big blow to Uganda Cranes since the performance was on a high over the recent past.
According to national team captain Dennis Onyango the side’s fortunes could be affected by the sudden departure.
In an interview with Ugandan radio sation KFM , Onyango said Micho did a fantastic job for the team and brought back the belief and loved Uganda.
“Some of us would never have been at AFCON without him. It’s a big blow. We’ll miss him. But life goes on.”
The Mamelodi Sundowns keeper who is the current Africa Player of the year added that the government should have stepped in to resolve the standoff.
“We don’t deserve to be left like that, the government should have stepped in to help resolve the issues because he was the coach of Uganda Cranes not FUFA Cranes,” Onyango said.
The Serbian coach quit his post as coach of Uganda national team on Saturday citing non payment of salary for months.
