Ovidy Karuru who has had a rather tops-turvy football career says he elated to be called back to have a dance with the Warriors again.

Karuru currently playing his football with a South African National First Division side Amazulu. He was offloaded by ABSA giants Kaiser Chiefs last year.

Karuru has a chance to in France and recently was at Belgium side OH Leuven. The travels on the midfielder’s career has not helped his to settle and show his true potential that one thought to a brighter prospect coming of Masvingo and Zimbabwe.

Karuru had this to say during the Warriors camp.

“It’s a great feeling. To represent the country is always a great feeling. To get a chance to play for the national team and I’m happy to be back.

“All I can say is we are trying by all means to get the right combination so that come Sunday we get the results that the  nation wants,” he said.

He was optimistic Zimbabwe will be in Cameroon come 2019.

“The last team qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations so our aim is to do the same, and to do even better, to qualify before we finish the games.

“All I can say is the confidence is high, the morale is high, [and] everyone is raring to go. And the competition is also high, everyone wants to play, everyone wants a place in the starting eleven,” said Karuru.
